Coahoma County VINELink Coverage
Mississippi calls its service Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification, or SAVIN. The Office of Mississippi SAVIN administers the state VINE layer. It tracks offenders reported by participating county jail facilities and MDOC. “Participating” is an important limit because statewide access does not promise that each jail sends every field or event in the same way.
VINELink is useful for a person who may be in the Coahoma County Detention Facility, has moved into MDOC custody, or has a custody event supplied by another participating Mississippi agency. It is not the official legal release instrument. It also does not replace the Bureau of Prisons locator for a federal prisoner, the ICE detainee locator, or a court file that explains the legal order.

Search Coahoma County VINELink Records
Use the direct Mississippi route or begin at the national portal and choose the state. Search one person at a time. A name can produce several results, so compare the offender ID, agency, and available identifying details before relying on a match. Partial-name or partial-ID choices can vary with the current interface. If the result is missing, check that Coahoma appears in the agency selector and then try the correct custodian's own system.

- Review every candidate carefully. Do not identify someone from a shared name alone.

A “Released” label should be quoted exactly and tied to its agency. It may mean release from that custodian, not freedom from every possible hold. A county jail transfer to MDOC ends county custody but continues state custody. VINELink also differs from the Mississippi Sex Offender Registry. The registry covers only people with a statutory duty to register and can show a person outside confinement, but it is not a list of all released inmates. Registration is tied to the selected record and delivery route. Review the confirmation screen before leaving it, and retain the exact name, ID, and agency used. If the phone number or email address changes, update the registration through the available workflow. An alert can fail because of an old destination even when the custody agency reported the event correctly.
Coahoma SAVIN Registration Link
Mississippi SAVIN has a distinctive “Registration Link” that can follow a notification registration from a participating county booking system into MDOC or another custody source after a felony conviction. That bridge is especially useful in Coahoma County because disappearance from county custody can mean transfer into the state system rather than release to the community. The linked registration can reduce the chance that a person stops receiving notices simply because the custodian changed.
The event still needs interpretation. A county departure, MDOC admission, later transfer, and eventual release can create several notices close together. Read each label and source. If a transfer is reported, search MDOC by name or ID and confirm the state location. If release is reported, ask the reporting agency whether the event was community release or release to another authority.

Note: The Registration Link can preserve notice continuity, but the receiving agency's record remains the source for the new custody status.
Read Coahoma Custody Events Carefully
SAVIN recognizes transfer, return to custody, escape, abscond supervision, and release from custody. These words are not substitutes for one another. A transfer means responsibility moved to another custodian. Return to custody means a community-supervised person may again be confined. An abscond-supervision event reflects an allegation by the supervising authority and is not a new conviction.
For a released county-jail detainee, call the Coahoma County Detention Facility at 662-624-3085 and request the local release or disposition entry. For a state prisoner, use the MDOC Inmate Search and read location and Tentative Release Date together. For supervision status, return to the separate parolee search or contact the Coahoma Probation & Parole Office. Confirm Coahoma VINELink Release Results
VINELink does not replace the BOP Inmate Locator. A former federal prisoner may appear as “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody” with a federal release date, but that federal result does not rule out state, local, or immigration custody. ICE also has its own current detainee locator. Neither federal tool is a Coahoma County release list.
County confirmation should identify four points: which agency held the person, what event ended that custody, where the person went next, and which official record confirms it. The minimum proof is the custodian's release or disposition entry for departure time, the court order or corrections instrument for legal authority, and the responsible state record for current supervision. Save a VINELink alert as a dated lead. Then confirm it. This sequence keeps a brief data delay or an ambiguous event from turning into an unsupported statement that someone is free.
